How AI reply suggestions work: drafts that never send themselves

AI reply suggestions in FadeTalk are drafts, not messages. When you are stuck on a reply, FadeTalk suggests a draft in your tone; you decide whether to use it, edit it and send it yourself, and nothing is sent automatically. AI drafts and translation work only when both people in the chat have opted in; otherwise you get built-in suggestions and no translation.

When an AI reply draft helps

A message comes in and the first line of your reply will not come. You type a few words, delete them, and a few minutes go by. An AI reply draft is a suggested reply in your tone that is never sent unless you send it yourself. It gives the reply a starting point, so you are not facing an empty box.

Reply drafts are not built for one kind of conversation. The replies that are hard to begin differ from person to person and from chat to chat: answering someone after a long silence, saying no briefly and kindly, thanking someone without sounding stiff. Whether to use a draft is always your choice.

You always send the message yourself

A draft is a suggestion. You pick it, edit it and send it. You can send it as it is, or keep two words and rewrite the rest. Every message the other person receives is one you chose to send. The other person believes they are talking to a person, and that belief is the premise of a messenger; however good the draft, a human presses send.

A draft will not always be right. When a sentence carries a fact, such as a date, a time or a promise, read it again before you send. Leaving the final edit to you is part of the design, not a gap in it.

Why AI drafts need both people to opt in

Drafting a reply means reading the context, and the context includes the other person's messages, so consent from one side is not enough. FadeTalk uses AI for drafts only when both of you have opted in; otherwise it shows built-in suggestions. Translation follows the same rule and stays off unless both people have opted in, as explained in how to chat with someone who speaks another language.

Why drafts are written in your tone

A draft that does not sound like you creates two problems. Editing it takes long enough that the draft stops helping, and sending it unedited lets the other person notice the change. A good draft starts from a sentence you might have written. The less there is to fix, the easier it is to check before you send, and the sender remains the sender.

Reply suggestions, not autopilot

An assistant in a messenger should help your hand, not replace it. FadeTalk's reply drafts offer a first line and leave the checking and the sending to you. A feature that crosses that line is better left out, however convenient it looks.

Frequently asked questions

Does FadeTalk's AI send messages for me?

No. FadeTalk suggests reply drafts in your tone, and you edit and send them yourself. Nothing is sent automatically.

What happens if the other person has not opted in to AI?

In FadeTalk, AI reply drafts and translation require both people in the chat to opt in. If either person has not, FadeTalk shows built-in suggestions instead, and translation is off.

Can I send an AI reply draft without editing it?

Yes. A FadeTalk reply draft is a suggestion: you can send it as it is, change any part of it or ignore it. In every case you send it yourself; nothing is sent automatically.

Are AI reply drafts always accurate?

No. A FadeTalk reply draft is a suggestion and can be wrong, so read it before sending, especially any date, time or promise it mentions. You can edit any part of it or not use it.
